About Turning Point NI
Turning Point NI is a community-based mental health and crisis intervention organisation supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges, including suicide ideation, self-harm, addiction, and emotional distress. We provide accessible, early intervention support and work closely with communities to promote resilience, wellbeing, and positive mental health outcomes.
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and proactive Community Development Officer to support the growth and wellbeing of local communities within the Ballymena Area, in line with PEACEPLUS & SEUPB funding framework. This is a people-focused role where you will work closely with individuals, groups, and partner organisations to identify needs, deliver impactful initiatives, and encourage inclusive participation within the Ballymena Area.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Engaging with local communities to understand their needs and priorities
· Building strong relationships with community members and stakeholders
· Planning and delivering community projects and events
· Supporting inclusive participation across diverse groups
· Working with partners such as local authorities, charities, and schools
· Monitoring impact and reporting on outcomes
What We’re Looking For
· Experience in community engagement, social impact, or similar roles
· Strong communication and relationship-building skills
· Ability to organise and deliver projects or events
· A proactive hands-on and flexible approach to work
· A genuine passion for supporting communities
· Full Driving License is required
Desirable:
· Relevant qualification in community development or similar field
· Experience working with diverse or underrepresented groups
